Cookies with Dexter...

Hello again! I've been MIA the last week and a half or so because I haven't been feeling well. Nothing major. I haven't been sewing or anything lately, and I have A LOT to do!! My poor MIL has been waiting on a dress form pincushion (2nd one), and I haven't had the energy to do it. I have to start my lady for my very first blog hop i entered, but I wasn't procrastinating, I just needed some wonder under ( i think that's what it's called). Anyhow. I'm feeling much better now and I just wanted to share a fun experience I had with my 3 yo son, Dexter. I actually started with both babies participating, but LillyAnn was gone shortly after we started. So, Here is what we did...
We made cookies! He was so excited, and she was, at first, but then decided it wasn't her cup of tea. I guess she's still a little young, or maybe it's because she's like her daddy and doesn't really like sweets, she prefers salty and savory over sweet. And THAT'S OKAY! It just means more for me and Dexter. He was doing a really good job...

And having fun...
after a quick break watching tv...
he got to work...
even had to have a taste, make sure it was just right...
but he went back to work..
such a big boy...
we gotta check on them so they don't burn...(notice he has his oven mitt on his right hand...LOL)

they've cooled down now...
time to eat em!!!!
he had fun making his cookies...but wait...who do you think showed up at the end when all the work was done?
Little sister, of course! Sneaky girl She was so happy to try one of her brother's cookies, and she didn't eat the whole thing.

This was a nice experience for Dexter and I. Mommy is always busy cleaning house and TRYING to keep things tidy and we don't get many moments like this, so when we do, I soak them up just as much as he does. He's a very sweet-natured boy and loves to do little projects like this. I'm so glad we shared this experience. Many more to come!!

I'll be back in a couple of days to share what I started working on, and need to finish. Its really cute...some felt food for their kitchen at their Gamaw's house:)

Happy sewing/crafting!

Erica

  7. That is so precious. I have two nieces at about the same ages as your two darlings. I am thinking we may need to make cookies.
You mom sent me over, but I am really glad she did.
