Celebrating SimpleSew's blogaversary!!

HI again! First i must say I am late!. I should have had this picture up 2 days ago, but with family coming into town (earlier than expected) and us not being ready for them kinda put other things on the back burner for us. We have spent the last two days remodeling/redecorating my son's room for them to stay here. We don't know how long they will be here, but it should be comfortable for them while they are here! Also, i had my photo taken, blog written out about the blogaversary, and had it all ready to go but it didn't work!!! So I come in here this morning to all the happenings and the business going on and....nothing. It wasn't even there! Great job, Google. So i am so very sorry I am a little late but....here it is. The handmade prize I am offering up as part of Simplesew's Blogaversary:
i apologize its not the best picture in the world, but my little klepto girl has taken my adapter for my disk from my camera and i can't find it. Anyhow, this pincushion is made with Flutter by The Quilted Fish for Riley Blake Designs. It includes a broach filled with emery powder to sharpen your needles and pins and mounted on a candlestick. A perfect addition to your sewing room or pincushion collection. To win this, all you have to do is become a follower of my blog, and leave a comment telling me what your favorite thing to sew is, and what colors are your favorite! I will choose a winner based on your comments. Sorry I am not using a random generator, still new to this and I will get it sooner than never. Have fun with the Blogaversary and good luck winning!! Erica

  4. Hi Erica, Happy Blogaversary ! Your pincushion is "sew" cute ! Great job! And hey, I was late this morning with my post too and I don't even have an excuse....just plain old LATE ! My fav thing to sew are quilts. When my daughter was in school (18 years ago, Yikes !)I made almost all of her clothes. Back then it was cheaper to make clothes which is not the case anymore (in my opinion). I love all colors, but for quilts I make for my home I like reds, browns and yellows.

  10. My favorite thing to sew is a quilt top. I just love piecing fabric together.
My favorite colors as bright jewel like tones. I love blues that learn slightly toward green - you know, that magical color that is like the Caribbean Ocean on a perfect day? That said, I love all colors as long as they are bright and happy.

  11. My favorite things to sew would be smaller items so I can get almost instant gratification. Among those items would be coin purses, totes, purses, pot holders, table runners, rug mugs, coasters, mini quilts, lap quilts and other stuff like that. Before my long hiatus from sewing and quilting, I made several larger quilts and enjoyed that process, but now prefer making smaller stuff.

My all time favorite color is red, red, red. Can't get enough of it. My favorite color combinations are red, black and white ... blue and yellow ... orange, yellow and green.

The pin cushion is way cute and in my favorite color too. Love that Flutter fabric.

    2. I am the same way when it comes to sewing. I like to sew the smaller things. Anything that takes too long gives me anxiety and feels like it will never get done. I do plan to make a quilt for my bed, but still collecting the fabric for it. Grey and Black and i'm still deciding on an accent color. It's a long process for me because I want it to be just right. Thanks for stopping by Jana, and good luck!

  13. How fun! I'm so happy to see your little blog growing :) Since you asked, I love red. Yes, my heart has turned toward purple and teal, and even orange lately, but I love red. And my favorite thing to sew is...toys. Dolls, stuffed animals, anything without a zipper or hem - I like bringing things to life!

  14. What a lovely dress form! Right now, I am loving quilts and the entire quilting process. I have started to spread my wings a bit with pouches and pin cushions. Each month I try one new thing. My favorite colors...orange and purple...I can't seem to get enough of them!

  15. Hah you are so funny! Well for my little klepto/girl I like to sew her pretty dresses that sometimes she will wear and then sometimes she won't. My favorite color changes daily, today is Purple, of course I hardly have anything that is purple, so I must go shopping, lol just kidding.

    1. You know, I like to throw in a little humor here and there. She's actually taken and lost quite a few of my things...disc adapter, rotary cutter, bobbins right out of the machine...those are the most important right now. My son does, too, but he'll give me my stuff back. Sometimes I make things for my little girl, and she's the same way, sometimes she will wear them, sometimes she won't. I'd like to go shopping, too. Wouldn't it be great if we could just shop for fabric all the time?
